Immediate: The SIP group has an open PhD position. We look for excellent PhD candidates with a strong background in Information Theory, Machine Learning, Image Processing or Theoretical Physics. Please, see this page for mode details.

We seek to develop techniques for physical object security based on physical uncloneable functions (PUFs) that include both passive and active optical systems. An essential part of research is dedicated to the information theoretic analysis of secret key extraction capacity under different statistical models of common secrecy defined by PUFs.  Specific application includes the identification of physical objects in the Internet of Things applications. The research project will be in close collaboration between the University of Geneva, Switzerland, and the University of Eindhoven, The Netherlands, and INRIA, Rennes, France.
