PhD position: Machine learning based image processing

Applications are invited for a PhD position at the Stochastic Information Processing Group (SIP), Computer Vision and Multimedia Laboratory (CVML), University of Geneva, Switzerland. The successful applicant will be involved into research project related to the development of machine learning based image processing methods in applications to digital forensics, anti-counterfeiting and digital photography.  The project involves fundamental research on the development of new machine learning models and methods for universal image processing in unknown and/or varying imaging conditions. The candidate is expected to hold a MSc degree in one of the following domains: machine learning or signal/image processing or mathematics. Solid background in one or more complementary topics from the list are highly beneficial. The candidate should have strong programming skills in Python with some experience in TensorFlow and/or PyTorch.

PROGRAMMING SKILLS

Experience in software development using Python  is mandatory and Matlab, C/C++ are desirable.

LANGUAGE

Excellent skills of speaking and writing English are mandatory, knowledge of French is welcome. French is the spoken language in Geneva so some knowledge of French is necessary, as well as the willingness to learn more in order to participate to department activities.
