Fokko Beekhof
Biography
My name is Fokko Beekhof, I was born in 1977 in the Netherlands. I moved to Switzerland in 2004, and still love living in Geneva.
Before joining the SIP group, I've obtained a Masters' degree in computer science from the Technical University in Delft, specializing in parallel and distributed computing and load-balancing. After that, I've worked in the SPC group of the University of Geneva as a programmer on the Lattice Boltzmann method.
Research Interests
Since 2006 I have been pursuing a PhD, the subject of which is the identification problem in biometrics and Physical Unclonable Functions. Specifically, my work is focussed on the development of decoders that are performant both in terms of accuracy and speed, in a novel direction that is different from the more classical quantization / lookup table approach. Part of the work involves large-scale experiments, for which I use my past experience in parallel computing and C++.
Teaching
I am teaching assistant for the following courses:
- Multi-media security
- Information theory
Projects
The SNF has funded my research under projects 200021-111643 and 200021-1119770.
